Inside Smart Factory

Industrie Informatik Innovation Day 2024

24.10.2024

200 guests accepted our invitation to the Industrie Informatik Innovation Day on 17 October! Customers, partners and interested parties from the entire DACH region came together in the impressive ambience of the Flugwerft Schleißheim and spent two informative, relaxed and instructive days with us.

Networked and flexible shop floor with many new application possibilities

The world of digital manufacturing is networked and flexible. Accordingly, Industrie Informatik GmbH presented the further development of its cronetworld manufacturing platform at the Innovation Day and demonstrated the innovative power behind the integrative data hub. Specifically, the focus was on the combination of state-of-the-art technologies with an innovative best-of-breed approach, especially in the form of a powerful partner network, in order to jointly shape the smart factory of the future.

Together we take off – with the smart factory as our goal

More than 200 participants gathered for the now traditional Industry Informatics Innovation Day – this time held against the impressive backdrop of the Schleißheim airfield in the north of Munich! The focus was on inspiring use cases from practice, presented by well-known customers such as Festool, GEA, STIHL Tirol and DOKA.

However, the day was introduced by a keynote speech in which it was shown that the broad spectrum of manufacturing digitalisation can only be transferred into practice through integrative technologies and an open software architecture, flanked by strong technology partners. The cronetworld manufacturing platform combines precisely these strengths and creates the basis for integrating cronetwork MES with neighbouring systems and the services of selected technology partners along the entire value chain. While the core of smart ‘Manufacturing Execution’ is still covered by cronetwork MES, the extension creates unique best-of-breed solutions that enable customised applications for users.

Manufacturing is constantly evolving and so are the demands placed on it. Smart production environments are more flexible, scalable and, above all, highly networked. This is exactly where the cronetworld manufacturing platform comes in! For me, the advantage clearly lies in the connection of production, logistics, quality assurance, service, etc. This also facilitates the networking of global locations in real time.

Artificial intelligence on the way to the smart factory

The topic of ‘artificial intelligence’ was also dealt with intensively – among other things, the MES provider now supplies a market-ready solution in the field of AI-supported, digital production optimisation. Both customers and the Industrie Informatik team itself are aware of the huge potential that still needs to be tapped in this area. Thorsten Steger comments: ‘AI has the potential to change manufacturing in a way that we could hardly have imagined just a few years ago. With the APS Optimiser and Predictive Analytics, we already have tried-and-tested solutions in our portfolio!’

Networking & supporting programme

In addition to the lecture programme, there was also a lot on offer for the Innovation Day guests. The evening before, Industrie Informatik GmbH hosted a get-together at the Flugwerft. Surrounded by impressive aircraft exhibits, the participants spent a relaxed networking evening, framed by good food, exciting races in the Formula 1 racing simulator and informative tours of the exhibition hall.
