Single Sign-on :: once-only authentication – many benefits

Share now

In our continuing development of cronetwork®, we concentrate particularly on usability, state-of-the-art technology and practical applicability of cronetwork. The Single Sign-On (SSO) functionality that we have now implemented in cronetwork can contribute significantly to facilitating your workday.

Once-only authentication in the cronetwork administrative programs benefits with time savings and improved security. A single login to the operating system enables you to run a range of cronetwork applications without additional logins.

From practical experience for practical application

If you utilize multiple cronetwork modules or masks, you save valuable time. In personnel administration, e.g., you benefit in the approval process for leave requests: You receive vacation requests as usual per e-mail, and with a click on the included link, you switch to leave scheduling in Time & Attendance without a new login.

Time savings & improved security

The benefits of single sign-on for the authentication process are obvious: you save time and improve security.
Since only a single login is required, you save effort and valuable time – day by day. Passwords are entered only once, which reduces the risk of password piracy.

Another security benefit is that a user no longer needs to remember a multitude of passwords, but only a single one, and this password can be constructed to be secure and complex. This reduces the risk of the user writing down passwords, or using the same password everywhere, or using insecurely simple passwords. Further, this raises consciousness about where it is okay to enter the user name and password.

Prerequisites

cronetwork customers can license Single Sign-On since 2017. The basic prerequisite is the use of LDAP identification.

Single Sign-on?

Single sign-on (SSO) is an authentication process for user sessions. A user saves and uses only his operating system password; this single sign-on (login) authorizes him to access multiple applications without renewed login.
